Paulownia solid wood kitchen cabinets
The Yorkshire Pine Factory has introduced a new range of fully built Paulownia solid wood kitchen cabinets as a real alternative to solid oak kitchen cabinets at a fraction of the price.
Paulownia wood strength, smoothness and the lack of blemishes gives it numerous advantages over other wood to be used in the manufacturing of solid wood kitchen cabinets.
It is water-resistant, exceptionally stable, withstands warping, breakages and deformations. The shrinkage co-efficient of paulownia is very low in volume, giving dried Paulownia wood a high level of dimensional stability.
With an auto ignition temperature higher than 400 degrees Celsius, most hardwoods are around 220 degrees Celsius, Paulownia has a flame spreading rate considerably lower to most building codes.
Paulownia is highly resistant to attacks from insects, pests and rot. Paulownia wood stains and paint well in all varieties of colours. With similar grain but lighter in colour than oak, when stained it visually appears similar to oak and at a fraction of the price it is preferred to oak.
